We are thrilled to introduce the latest addition to our F4 Foils youth team, Damla Kurtdemir, a remarkable 14-year-old windsurfer hailing from the beautiful Alacati, where her windsurfing journey began at the tender age of 7.
Damla's windsurfing journey began as a source of joy, a way to revel in the tranquility of the water. Little did she know, her passion for the sport would blossom under the guidance of renowned trainers, Jimmy Diaz and Cagla Kubat. They not only instilled in her the thrill of racing but also cultivated a deep-seated passion for windsurfing. They imparted the values of discipline, hard work, and perseverance, crucial elements for reaching her dreams.
In Damla's own words, "Starting this sport at only 7 years old in my beautiful home spot Alacati, I always dreamed of becoming one of the sailors who were up on the podium holding up their trophies. When I first started windsurfing, it was just about having fun and spending time on the water."
However, Damla's aspirations reach beyond the waves. She envisions standing tall as the PWA women's world champion one day, a dream she is ardently pursuing with each sail.
But Damla is not just a windsurfing prodigy; she's a multi-talented individual. Currently in the ninth grade, she aspires to delve into the world of engineering in college. Beyond academics and windsurfing, Damla finds joy in playing tennis and sharing her love for baking with friends and family.
A warm welcome to Damla, whose story of determination, passion, and multi-faceted talents enriches our F4 Foils youth team. We look forward to being part of her journey as she sails toward her dreams.
We are excited to have you with us, Damla!
